Updates updates!

Mummy felt some water leaking.. unsure if it was actually discharge or the water bag is actually leaking... but after awhile the leaking stopped.

Daddy was afraid that i cant differentiate between discharge and AF hence, ask mummy to call joycelyn.. Joycelyn told us to go down to the hosp for a check if unsure.. so the kiasi daddy drove down to the hosp to monitor :P

Had VE, CTG, BP check, Temp check and all these cost us $66. But mummy is glad to found out that she's actually 1cm dilated! Ok, better than nothing right hehee.. Joycelyn sent mummy home and ask mummy to see her tomorrow to see if the water level is really dropping.. and talk abt inducing..

Mummy and Daddy do not wish to induce.. but we shall see what she says tomorrow .. hopefully labour can start later in the wee hours.. so mummy do not need to go through the pain for inducing =\ jia you baby, please push more downwards haha.

Mummy lost her mucus plug this morning 2am when she was having supper with daddy at marina sq.. after that we went ahead with our plan to Mustafa.. Initially really tot will end up at TMC ha but didint lah...

Went back to zzz.. another round of mucus plug came out ard 11am.. but this time is brownish colour.. so mummy tot she really got chance for a 10/10/09 baby.. who knows it's now 11/10/09 now.. no more hope for 1010 liao heh...

Mummy called joycelyn just now and she said soon.. labour might start tomorrow.. so baby when are you coming ?? Everyone is asking for you. haha my mom has to entertain calls from relatives and friends.. asking abt u.. but i the thing they really care is 4D lah hor hahaha.. so mummy told daddy to only announce after 7pm. 4D close liao see how they wanna buy ok? :P

Updates on my week 39 check up today.. Charlotte is still very comfy inside the womb palace and she refuse to come out... haha very obedient lah.. maybe she still tot that "daddy says cannot come out so soon" Hello baby it's OCTOBER!!!! hahaha

Mummy weight gained 100g, baby gained 200g which is now 3.4kg for her.. well, it's a pure estimation.. so hopefully doctor's estimation is +20% so she is only like ard 3.1kg ??
Doctor did not give mummy the green light to induce today because firstly, baby is not >3.5kg, water level still ok, and mummy's BP is normal too. Then again, she's afraid of fail induction and mummy may end up going for emergency c section..

So how to make baby come out faster?
No1: Walk More!!
No2: Intercourse (Hormones prostaglandins which is contained in semen will help to kick start labour) wahaha... ok maybe we can try that lol.

Doctor did a membrane sweep for mommy and mommy came home with a soaked pad with dark red discharge.. wah lao damn scary. anyway what is membrane sweep?

Daddy placed an order for the diaper bag at Amazon a few weeks ago and it's finally here!
The Ju Ju Be - Be All in Black/Silver. Singapore retail at around $208 if i can remember correctly and daddy got it for USD117 hehehe... cant wait to bring Charlotte for her first photoshooting so that i can put her photos in the bag! (refer to below)

Mummy went for her 38th week check up yesterday and good news is that baby's weight gain is back to normal! 300g for 2 weeks compared to previous time 700g haha.. Joycelyn ask me to walk more and eat less.. next check up will be on 7/10 and we will see if need to induce anot.. as Joycelyn is afraid that 3.5kg baby will be alittle tough for me to push her out hehe.. hope baby weight has stablised so mummy no need to go for induce.

Mummy cannot sleep well recently... perhaps too excited that Charlotte is coming? hehe.. so every night i will hit daddy a few times to stop him from grinding his damn teeth!!!! It is so irritating and i really feel like slapping him.. and i think one day i will. ha ha

Tomorrow mummy will visit Dr Joycelyn again.. perhaps for the final time before Charlotte decide to come out and greet mummy and daddy? Or rather let mummy and daddy decide for u ? haha coz might need to induce.. we'll see what Joycelyn say tomorrow..

Mummy went to visit baby Elijah yesterday.. he's your little cousin hehe .. same generation in our big big family :):) [4th gen] So we've have 2 babies to play with during next yr's CNY! and i'm damn looking forward to it hehee..

He's only 4 day old haha so adorable..

Ok mummy need to rant now. lol. I told my mom that i might need to induce because the baby might be too big for natural birth and she end up telling so many of the auntie and uncle and end up all of them are against the idea.

Yes i know it's not consider "natural" if we force the baby out before he/she decides when she wanna come out. but why cant they think of it in another way that it can prevent any complications which may even impose a danger to the baby or the mother, me myself? and ya my mom end up saying that that's why they say female doctors are not good blah blah blah... whatever shit lah. I dun want to end up not listening to the gynae's advise and end up with something that i might regret for life.

Anyway this is my own decision. It's not up to her to decide. Even if i go ahead with the inducing, she can do nothing about it. Yup, that's me.

Updates abt my previous visit to Joycelyn Wong :)

Joycelyn was shocked to see that baby weight was around 3.1kg.. so she re-measured again and again till the 4th time and then baby weight was estimated to be around 2.8kg.

Charlotte was only 2.2kg 2 weeks prior to the check up and she've gained 700g within 2 weeks! As for me, i've gained another 2kg!... my last visit i only gained 200g .. so we ask me to control my diet and watch what i eat..

She suspect that i have GD and ask me to go for the test.. many people told me that it's quite useless and a waste of money to do the test now since i'm going to due anytime.. but cammie told me that if the mother has GD, the nurses gotta monitor the baby on many other several factors.. So i went ahead with the test.. Fasted for 9 hours and waited 2 hrs in the clinic to do 2 blood test..
After all the needles and stuff i think i wont be afraid of blood tests anymore.. 2 tubes within 2 hrs hoho! how exciting! but then again i'm still afraid of the drip that i think i'm most likely to kena... i read stories abt how long and thick the needle is !

oh yea i did the strep B swap test too.. and experience my first VE.. which was actually quite painful ah.. imagine the midwife gotta do VE for you while u are having contractions! omg that's even more painful lor! (i think)

The staff called me on Tue to inform me abt the results for both GD and the swap test.. both turn out normal :D Yeah good news haha..

Now i'm waiting for my next check up which is on 1st oct.. Joycelyn said if baby not out by then, can induce liao coz if not she will be too big for natural birth... i dun want to go under the knife.. coz if i kena emergency c sect or what the bill can go up to as high as 10K!! that's what wee is worrying now too.. as he did not set aside such a huge amount just for the delivery fees! sigh just pray that i'm going to have a smooth delivery! :D

Soon we will be able to see Baby Charlotte liao hehehe! i'm excited yet nervous and scare. ha

No more nursery room for Charlotte liao.. all my plans ruined.. :(
Have done up some of the deco in the room but heng it's not alot.. if not my efforts will be really wasted...

The geomancer told us that the master bed room has a weird shape and it's not advisable to sleep in.. so my mil is not taking the master room. Instead, she'll be taking the room which was intended for Charlotte.. what to do.. hahaa but inside me, i was laughing away... where got such nonsense that the MASTER BED ROOM cannot sleep one.. ridiculous lor. If u tell me that's it's one of the common rooms, maybe it's not that hilarious hahaha. Anyway it's not our flat.. and we didnt pay for the fengshui analysis too.. if not we'll seek for a 2nd opinion..

Now we have shifted the cot into our room, placed beside me. the parquet in my room got scratched while wee and the mom was doing the move.. since they ask me NOT TO SEE or TOUCH while they move.. haha.. hmm quite crampy.. just nice lor.. the space between the cot and our bed is v small.. i dun even have a space to stand up .. so gotta just sit on the bed..

So what are we going to do with the master room? wee gonna place the computer there... TV, PS3 etc i'll be taking 2/5 of the wardrobe to put Charlotte's stuff and maybe the CL can sleep there for the 1 month.. hai.... i wanted to let Charlotte sleep with her.. cos since i'm paying so much for this CL.. how can i let her have a peaceful sleep in the night time right... ha ha ha.. maybe wee gotta sleep in the master room for the first month while the CL sleep with me in the room.. so she can take care of baby too.. well, we'll see how thing goes..

WHEN IS MY PUNGGOL SPRING COMING ?!?! So far my block is only at the 5-6 storey.. ok maybe soon soon early-mid next yr we can see the whole 17 floor? :D

Mummy is K.O from the taka baby fair shopping spree!! Spent a total of $211 on the following.. actually look like not alot hor.. nowadays the things so expensive.. tsk.. $200 only can buy so little stuff...

After that we went over to mil new flat as the fengshui people is coming over today to do see the new flat..

They told me that pregnant lady is not allowed to be in the house when they take out the "luo pan" .. so i end up sitting at the staircase for about 30 mins... damn. Anway this is the first time we step into the new flat.. saw the rooms etc quite small actually... but at least i have a room for baby charlotte :)

It's week 33 !!

Mummy and Daddy have starting preparing the hospital bag... there's so many things to bring to hospital!! Initially i tot a small bag would be enough.. but since Daddy will be staying overnight with us, so we have changed to a bigger bag ha ha... looks like we're going for a vacation.

A list of things to bring:

Mummy just calculated how much we have spent so far for doctor's consultations all tests..
all amounted to be $1783! woah... not inclusive of hospital fee and delivery charges. Shopping expenses are also not included yet!! haha.. mummy and daddy is going to taka baby fair tomorrow to do last min shopping for baby, after which mummy can concentrate on the books liao..

Cant wait for exams to end!!! It's the last lap liao. jia you! Charlotte must be 乖乖. Only can come out in October ok :D Mummy love you!

Today's Mrs Wong class is the first lesson on baby care.. all those labour and delivery lessons are over. haa no more uncensored labour videos :D

So per couple we have a baby hehe we were there rather early and i chose a baby girl! :D hahaha so as usual, wee got curious and start "playing" with her.

Mrs Wong remind us to be gentle to her babies.. although they are not real, it hurts to see some babies have broken arms and legs... notice the picture below, some couple from the previous class stuff a cotton wool into the baby's mouth! wth....

Today's class was on how to carry the baby, how to swaddle, bathe, burping, wear nappy etc hahaha

You guys should see how the daddys in the class perform man! Totally hilarious! hahaaha.. i cant stop laughing at wee too lol....

think i should bring my handycam next week to capture some funny scenes hahaha!!!

He is experimenting on the baby.. hope he dont do this to Charlotte! lol.

He said : "wah this baby v smart!! can sit on her own!"

Heh looking forward to next lesson, which is our last practical lesson. After which, will be a doctor's talk at SCGS :D

baby Charlotte is 31 week!!

too bad my gynae do not have the machine to do 3D scan for me.. so i do not know how baby actually looks like hehe.. only can rely on the 2D scans to imagine her look and features :D:D

Really cant wait to see her in October! :D:D

This few days she has been moving alot. almost 24 hours.. and loves to draw on my tummy in the wee hours and it is so painful! =\ i hope i can tahan till at least 38th week, as nowadays i keep having braxton hicks contractions which somehow quite uncomfortable.. i gonna feedback to Joycelyn during my next visit.

Just a update of baby Charlotte's ultra scan :):) only managed to get them scanned last night. haha.. Scan was taken during my 21st and 25th week.. Looking forward to my 28th week visit to Dr Wong this coming Monday!!!!

Cant wait to see baby again :):) Hopefully she will not be sleeping again.. i want to see her kicking and moving around haha.

My uncle collected a big bag of bean sprout husks for me! :D :D Actually my mom suppose to collect for me from the market but it seems that she either no time.. or she forgot to do so.. tsk.

So now my new task at home (to kill time) is to pick and sun them hahahah!!!
Last night wee was helping to pick those big pieces of beansprout.. cos he's afraid that it'll rot, and cause bacteria ..

Cant wait for the pillow cases to be ready so i can make the husk pillow! :D For my baby Charlotte hehe..

Although the husks are free.. but i think those effort from daddy and mummy is actually priceless! hehehe. hope my baby will love the pillows :):)

Exams are over!! but i still have the last hurdle to go, which will official ends in end of September! Which also means, i have 2 more papers to go!!!! *Sulks*

The beginning of this week was very hectic for me... comms paper on Monday, and after which, i went to get my eyebrow trimmed at far east plaza...

Waited for wee to finish his stupid weekly meeting, which ends ard 640pm!!! and i was wandering aimlessly around taka... been to kino to have some snacks at the coffee club and also bought a motherhood magazine to kill time =\ He only reached the place ard 720pm... my god :(

We celebrated Serene's birthday (a full day event) at Marina Square. woah, one word, TIRING haha.... took the cab down to MS to meet the girls at 1240pm and we headed to asabu sabo jap restaurant :D it's lunch time on a weekday!!! i love lunch time during weekdays because almost all the restaurants are having lunch time special, and it's so darn cheap!! hahaha..

Each of us ordered a set lunch and it comes with a ramen + don and it only costs us $7.90 each!!! Omg!!! and we also had their dessert icecream yummy :P:P After that we have no where to go and we went to Kbox. Dinner at Changing appetites.. Oh ya i also accidentally knock my tummy against the table edge and it was quite painful.. hopefully baby will not be affected in anyway... i orh cheh nevermind hhaa...

Gonna take a short break from the stupid Strategic Marketing text and notes >.< and also realised that it's time i update this blog.

Baby is now in her 24th week and is growing healthy :) My next appointment with Dr Wong will be next Friday. This time round, i wasn't really looking forward to the appointment as it falls on my exam week, which means i'm not v much looking forward to exams =\ yucks!!

I'm feeling itchy all over (tummy, legs, buttocks, EVERYWHERE) feel so much like a monkey keep scratching and scratching ha ha ha.. and i can feel that the tummy is expanding and growing at fast pace, hence explains the itchiness i guess ...

Met up with the girls to celebrate Carmen's 22nd ;) at highlander, clarke quay (minus mandy) as she is still in vietnam i think haha.. keep a look out for more photos which will be posted by Carmen in facebook ;P

I'm so bored... cant get myself to study.. but i gotta force myself to do it!! *sulks*

Mummy has signed up some studio packages for maternity and baby photography at the motherhood fair yesterday at expo hehe package cost $250 which is rather ok the most important is i like their photography style. Artistic and journalistic kind hehe.... already know what i wanna wear for the shoot hehe... :D:D

wee hoo! it's Friday again!! weekends are here!! 3 more days we'll be seeing our little one again!! have been counting down since a week ago haha... wee and me are going down to expo later to grab some good deals at the singaporemotherhood fair.. hopefully can get something for our little one.. heard that their nb diapers are on sale haa i can stock up first =x but seriously besides clothings, i dunno what else to buy leh.. coz i still think it's rather early =.= but since they are having sales, haa why not ?

baby is getting active day by day.. previous night she keep toss and turn, kicking and punching me till i woke up from my sleep!! So didnt really sleep well... had pasta mania last night with my project mates and i end up throwing up everything before bedtime.. the feeling sucks.. end up those dha, calcium and multi vit pills all threw out too... tsk waste of money =.=

i'm still not really done with my project which is due on MONDAY TOO!! hate presentations and projects.. argh.. just hope to get over quickly so all of us can prepare for the exams, which is 2-3 weeks from now.

I realise i should change the whole set of my cosmetics.. they are either expired or going to expire... coz i seldom use them or should i say never use any since we came back from Europe? lol.. or maybe i should wait till the little one is out then i shall get a new set again?

We have not settled for a confinement nanny yet.. tsk tsk.. since we are moving over back to sengkang after the birth of the little one, we decided to engage a full day nanny at my mil's place.. but our stay there will be a temporary one till our flat in punggol is ready.. Mummy has to sleep alone tonight with u baby, coz daddy will be working from 6pm - 830am the next morning.. all thanks to MOM. he gonna escort 200+ PRC workers to the airport and send them back to China. arghhh.... why is he doing such thing.. stupid... the same goes to this coming Tuesday night.. :( In fact he was supposed to go yesterday too but he excused himself haha.

But anyway he do not need to work tomorrow! so he can accompany me at home hehee.. but i bet he'll be sleeping away..

Dear baby, mummy and daddy went to see Dr Joycelyn again today to check on you! Mummy have been waiting very long for this day till her neck is super long liao hahaha..

We are still not 100% confirm of your gender but hopefully you wont grow a bird bird in the next visit haa.. i bet your daddy must be damn happy cos he wanted a girl :):) i'm fine with both but if can i also want a girl hehe... i cant wait for the gss to start so mummy and daddy can start to shop for your stuff!~!

Doctor ask mummy to eat more (she have not gained much weight as compared to her last visit, think only a 500g?) lol so that it can provide more for you but mummy dont have a good appetite recently and morning sickness is back again :( but mummy will try her best ok :):)

Sick of morning sickness? Mothers-to-be can take heart from a new study suggesting that children born to women who suffered from nausea in pregnancy may be smarter.

The study, published in the Journal of Pediatrics, found that children born to women who had been nauseous and vomiting during pregnancy performed better on a number of tests used to assess IQ and mental acuity.

Further, the study found that children born to women who took the drug diclectin for pregnancy-related nausea did not have lower scores than children whose mothers didn’t use the drug to control morning sickness.

“A lot of women are still afraid to treat their morning sickness because of the fear of medications, often with very severe costs on their health,” said senior author Dr. Gideon Koren, director of the Motherisk Program, at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto.

“They can be dehydrated, they cannot work. Poor quality of life. So in a way this study further supports them and empowers them to treat themselves.”

Koren and colleagues wanted to look at whether there were any signs that using diclectin during pregnancy was harmful. The drug has been on the market in Canada for decades, but was pulled from production in the U.S. about 25 years ago over concerns it might be harmful to fetuses. It is being reintroduced in that market.

The concerns, which came to light after the thalidomide scandal, led to the drug being extensively studied, said Dr. Tina Chambers, a teratologist at the University of California, San Diego’s School of Medicine. Teratology is the study of abnormal fetal development, congenital malformations and what causes them.

Chambers said the evidence overwhelmingly supports the notion that the drug is safe for use in pregnancy and this study adds further weight to the argument.

But in studying the drug, Koren and his colleagues also looked at the children of women who refused treatment for their morning sickness and found that they scored higher on tests than children whose mothers didn’t suffer from nausea during pregnancy.

Koren was quick to add that while the difference was statistically significant in scientific terms, it doesn’t mean that the children whose mothers weren’t nauseated were developmentally slow. Rather, it was just that the other children scored a bit higher.

It’s long been known that while hard to endure, nausea is actually a sign of a healthy pregnancy. Women who suffer from morning sickness are less likely to miscarry and less likely to give birth to babies with congenital cardiovascular problems.

The thinking is that some hormones secreted by the placenta — hormones needed for a healthy pregnancy — trigger the nausea.

And this work suggest they may have a positive effect on neurodevelopment, said Koren.

Chambers, who was not involved in the work, said the study only raises this hypothesis; it can’t prove it. But she said it makes sense, biologically, and a study to prove it can probably be designed.

“It’s really a fascinating finding,” she said, adding it may help nauseated mothers-to-be soldier on.

“When somebody’s suffering through eating those saltine crackers mornings, they (can) just think of this as being a really good thing as opposed to a negative thing.”

Yesterday marks the 15th week of the little on inside me.. mummy hasnt been feeling very well lately (since 2 weeks ago) Keep having headache and it seems like it's a 24/7 thingy!!

Last friday is my last day at work, and wanna thank the team for the hamper, Annabelle for the customised name magnet for me :) didnt really have any special feelings eventhough it was my last day at work coz everyone changed and i cant feel their warmness too haha.. so from today onwards i'm a full time student!! haha...

Yesterday we went to Tampines 1 to take a look at the newly opened shopping centre and bought a few clothings from uniqlo. Managed to get myself a dress for Cindy and David wedding this coming saturday at marina mandarin.. just hope that i wont have any headache on that day!! i wanna enjoy the good food :):)

I'm looking forward to my next visit to the gynae which is on 8 May.. i still cant feel the little one yet.. so i'm not sure how is he/she doing inside.. just hope everything turns out fine.. as i'm getting a little paranoid haha.. tummy like not growing =\ Since i'm jobless now, i hope that i can go out with friends more often and to catch up with them.. but then again i just hope that my headache will gets better by then argh.

I hate how things are done in my office. They are just a bunch of immature people.
Ever since I've tendered my resignation, they have been treating me like a temp staff. Asking me to scan the documents and stand whole day long, till my back ache and sometimes head also pain..

I know that I'm leaving soon but doesn't mean you guys have to treat me like this right. I've handed over my job and responsilibity to my colleague who will be covering me.. so right now I'm just an un-important person to them ... with no responsibility at all.. I'm ok with HELPING with the scanning of doc but i do not want to take on the responsibility to scan the docs the whole damn day! just feel that they are purposely picking on me. sigh :( have to endure 2 more weeks...

If the insist on asking me to scan, at least provide me with a high stool so i can sit on it lor.. young pple doesnt mean can stand all day lor... idiotz.

Mummy was down with quite a bad headache since last night... :( today we went to have adam road nasi lemak for lunch and mummy had a hair cut this afternoon hehe.. next, we went to my uncle's rojak stall to eat rojak!! have a sudden craving for it haha yummy :)

Somemore or rather i think this is my 2nd phase of morning sickness... previously was vomitting and vomitting.. now is headache and more headaches... if i were to choose, i rather feel nauseous than to have the pain in my head for the whole damn day!!!!!! all i can do is to sleep the whole day and hope the pain would go away... sometimes if the pain gets unbearable, i would pop 1 or 2 panadols.. :(

Baby must be good boy/girl ok.. both mummy and daddy is having a tough time :( who knows i maybe just stop at 1 haa (we planned to have 3 kids)

Dear baby, today mummy went for the OSCAR test, a test for down syndrome to see if you are alright.. the scan was v detailed and i can see your brain too! both left and right side hee like a butterfly shape. You're getting cuter day by day hehehe...

While the doctor was measuring the length of the back of your neck and the waterbag, u kept stretching hahaa... and sucking ur tumb haha.. but overall was ok.. after that mummy went to have a blood test.. i heard that they gonna draw at least 3 tubes of blood and it kinda frightened me.. but i dunno why they only drew 1 tube hehee thank goodness!!

Went back to see Dr Joycelyn and she prescribe me addition vitamins such as DHA (for your brain so u will be v smart ok) and multivitamins for the both of us.. she told me to continue drinking milk so both of us can get the calcium from there!

Mummy and daddy spent a bomb today.. the OSCAR test already cost us $400+ and we signed up for Dr Joycelyn package for $700+ which consists of all the consultations + scan from now till u're born!!

Grow well baby, mummy and daddy will see you again in 1 month's time to check on your gender! hahhaa:)

Today marks the 3rd month :) Which also mean i do not need to hide anymore from anyone haha.. but that doesnt mean i will go around and announce it, coz i dun really like pple keep asking me abt it especially those 38 pple in my office.. cant stand them! heh.. sorry girls if i didnt tell u the truth then.

For the past few months i've been feeling v sick almost on a daily basis and became very pro in puking haha.. just give me a toilet bowl and i can just throw up easily. Just hate the feeling.. broke down a few times in tears as it's just a torturing process :(:( I know i shouldnt be feeling this way but yeah it's tough.... sense of taste, smell everything changed... argh..

Going for the OSCAR test this week and i heard they gonna draw at least 5 tubes of blood! my god.. i scare needles.. :(

The wedding that we have been planning for months is finally over.. we spent months planning it and it's just gone within hours!! We worked so hard on making sure everything will run smoothly but nothing it's perfect. more or less there's some kok up here and there but it was nothing major. :)

The only thing that is a waste is my voice.. i've lost my voice complete due to overworked, overstressed etc etc.. and my body couldnt take it anymore. but nontheless i'm glad that i didnt have a fever or something that it requires me to be bedridden. haha.. wanna thank everyone especially my sister gang (Gilda, Serene, Mandy, Kaori, Carmen), brothers gang (Weiliang, Seng Kang, Gabriel, Wei Haur, Jeffrey) for making the gate crashing such a interesting one for us. hahaha.. especially Wei Haur.. sorry that i took your sleep away.. that u gotta drive me down to Suntec to get the bubble gun :(:(

Like finally lor!! Thanks to CTC for not being able to form our hokkaido tour ha. anyway was quite frustrated with them as they keep on cant confirm the tour and we delay till now. We went down several times and today to cancel the whole damn thing.

Jap Yen is getting more and more expensive and maybe it's a blessing too. In fact with a top up for less than $500 i can get to London, Paris and Amsterdam! Euro is only 1.88 and 2.2 for pound haha.. so wee days it's "cheaper" as compared to Yen. So, Yep my wish is coming true finally!! Honeymoon to Europe ha but we are pushing the trip all the way back to February coz all the flights are fully booked!!! :( Thanks to CTC. na bei.

We decided to go free and easy with SQ (hopefully A380 :P ) and book our own hotels. coz it seems that it's cheaper than booking flights and hotel with chan brothers. hehe i can save more and to shop there!! I'm preparing to bring lots of SD cards to store the photos hahahaha.. so excited!!! :D :D

I want to go to London Eye, Sex Museum, Tower Bridge, Big Ben and many many more!! Wee wanna make a day trip to Birmingham to visit his Uni hahahaa.. but he said there nothing much to see one. but anyway we can still go :):)

Last saturday mom and us went to distribute invitation cards to my grand auntie and uncle.
We went to Bt Panjang and then to Woodlands.. to hand the cards to my eldest granduncle..

He was standing at the corridor and we were unsure of the exact floor that .he live. so we walked down from 10th floor to 9th and we saw him standing there and my mom called him and he got a shock ha. so cute.

Spend about 10-15 mins in the house and he was talking abt some christmas dinner at fu man lou and said that he going to treat us there. and when my mom told him that he must come support (our dinner) ok? he reply "of coz lah! even i need a walking stick i will also go" ..

On monday morning while i'm on my way to work, i received a call from mom saying that he passed away on monday morning... i got the shock and i still couldnt believe that it's true.. last saturday i was talking to him and he was alright!!! and after 2 days he just left us like that..

Few days ago i just settled a problem with mom regarding the banquet tables ... almost wanted to fight.. sigh.. and now this thing happen... i not sure if i'm able to handle all these stress and worry.. my sch, work, projects, families and all those shit matters. :( Why arent things going smoothly ?!?!!?!?

Just came back from the wake.. i just could believe it 2 days ago i just visited him and he said he will definately come to my wedding... and now all i can see is him lying motionless in the coffin... why life is so unpredictable... :(:(:(

Guess mom is going through menopause recently and her temper is really bad... i dunno how to communicate with her ... sometimes she dun even wanna reply me when i asked her something.. it seems that the problem we had with her isnt settled afterall.. and deep down in her she still mind alot... sigh..

We had our first lesson for the Marriage Prepration Course last Sunday and it was pretty interesting :)

It was at the facilitor's house hehe couple team. They're married for 14 years and with 3 girls.

There were total of 6 couples attending the course with us and one of which was wee's ex colleague. haa yea so coincidence sia hehe.

The courses will cover various components such as Financial Management, Communication, In-Law management, Sexual Intimacy and Conflict Management.The ultimate purpose of all these are to understand one another better and to accept each other's difference and to adapt to it :)

Which i think it's very useful for pre married couples hehe and there's mini quiz for us to play with as a couple haha.. v interesting :) But i dun understand what's wrong with us attending such course as i have collegues appeared to be quite cynical abt it.

Haaa does that mean that people need to attend such courses when there's a problem in their marriage? That's simply too late already man.

The faciliator told us that they have a couple who call off the whole wedding after attending the whole course. Perhaps the girl found out that she's wasnt really as prepared she think she was.

Heh looking forward to next week's session!

We still need to do up a thank-you speech for the night and to do up a "gift" for the parents.. 24 hrs a day is simply not enough!

We have collected the invitation cards and inserts from the printer last week but to my shock, they printed the insert on a tracing paper instead of the cream insert that we request.. so they immediately reprint our insert and just collected today hehe.

Been tying the ribbons to the cards since we collected the cards and it's so so so tough!!!! sigh.... and i have 200+ of cards to tie.. :( stupid wee dunno how to tie hai..

hoho finally settled our bedsheet. Although not as cute as their previous chinese series.. but still can make do with it.. if we were to get the bliss collection at pagoda street, gotta cost us $150 only for the quit cover set.

So we bought this for $89.90 (quit cover) and we bought a set of maroon fitted sheet. total of ard $130+ and 2 new towels hehe! i've yet to buy my pyjamas sia.. so difficult to find the kind that i want.. sigh.

Now exams are over.. the next 2 paper will be on 13 and 15 Dec.. so from now till then we gonna be real busy with the rest of the preparation especially invitation cards and guest list and montage. busy busy busy!!

We haven't really actually go about asking around for the attendance but i'm already feeling very down.. I know 31 december falls on a peak period whereby everyone will be going for holiday and some to countdown party but i mean if you really sincere about attending someone's wedding dinner i dun see a reason why do you all need to comment about all these thing..

Do you know how difficult is it to get the hotel that you like and with the dates that you want ?! If you guys did not experience it then please keep those comments to yourself!! My colleague is having her wedding at marriott too this coming oct 27 a p.h which falls on monday so she received comments like "wah monday PH leh.. we need to rest ma so tue gotta start work" SAI RIGHT ?! YEAH DAMN IRRITATING! THAT'S SINGAPOREANS!

she told me that all these guest list planning thingy will allow us to see our so called "good friends" true colours.. she ask me not to waste my time on them and just cross their name out from the list.. but which is quite saddening for me lah especially when that person is really someone that grew up with me or have made some impact in my life.. but this is the reality... sigh...

I suddenly feel that if i can go without having to ask them for their attendance.. it's not that i do not want to ask but sometimes their comments just hurt.. or they took their own sweet time and end up still did not get back to you.

At the end of the day i do not want them to have the impression of me BEGGING them to come lor...

Mum called when we're on the way to vivocity telling us that the photos are ready!! Just 2 days ago she saw skyy editing our photos hehhee..

Since i'm taking home all the samples, it was all returned to me in a DVD haha.. winnie is on leave till end of the month so i can only choose my photos (for the big album) when she come back! hahaha .. Skyy helped us to zoom down to about 170 photos.. before that it was 300+ and she took out those that she thinks is not nice.

We have booked our honeymoon package today at the NATAS fair !!
Going for the 7D Hokkaido Winter Special with CTC holidays. The package cost $2088 + $588 (Airport tax) Omg.. so freaking exp hopefully it will go down coz now there's a fuel hike hence the price is so exp.

Total damage abt $5600 for two. No more spending already.. i'm gonna save up for my shopping in Tokyo! hahaha coz we will extend abt 1-2 nights stay Free and Easy in Tokyo so i can get my shopping loots haha!!

We had our photoshoot last saturday and the weather was super good!! :):) but we cannot be so happy about it yet as we still have our AD to worry about =.="

Skyy and Angela commented that my shots look super elegant like so 高贵 haha... hopefully they will turn out nice.. as for our outdoor shoot, we didnt go to alot of places..

Had some quick shots at Emerald hill (outside the studio) and we went to Shenton way, Hort Park.. wanting to take the swing haa but it was full of ants!! so Skyy found a cardboard for me to sit on it and quicky snap and go. omg hope the pics turn out nice..

We went to St Theresa church but got chased out :(:( damn it!! as there was a mass starting soon.. i wanted to take my shoot there so badly hai... we also went to Mt Faber, wanting to take the Henderson Wave (the new super long bridge) but it was too crowded ... ARGH!.

12/7/2008, our wedding anniversary :) hopefully wee will remember this date as the years goes by..

The sky was super dark and it might rain anytime. I was so super worried that it will rain as my event will take place outdoor.. and it's not a good sign for a couple to get married on a rainy day..

But i not sure what's wrong with god and when it's time to start, the sky is so sunny!!! :):) Thank god man!!! thanks whoever who prayed for us for a good weather hehe..

Although there's some hipcups in the morning and during the event, pictures suprisingly turn out over our expectation! No regrets for engaging KC ! :):)

Oh ya, and please do not pose for the photographer coz we would like the pictures to appear natural.. but it's important that you all flash your fabulous smile during any formals that they might capture. most importantly, just ignore the photographer. Treat it as he's not there ok?

After doing the draft of the seating card, we went over to mom place to fit wee's MTM AD Suit.

i wasnt with him when he was choosing the designs, however the uncle really did a good job in recommend him a nice design :)

He showed him a jap magazine cut out of the suit and it was like mandarin collar at the back and the front looks like a tux. it is so nice!! :):) but this is for his actual day. so far the shop do not have this design yet so my hubby-to-be is the first to make! hahaha.. and actually i found out that the design is the same/similar as Daniel Ong's and he wore a mandarin collar shirt to go with it.

My ROM gown is back after alteration of the length.. nice and simple :) mommy wanna bring back to sew the beading ..

Oh btw the shirt he was wearing is just to have a better feel of how is it going to be like. on the day itself it's not this shirt haha.

Wee is against this idea so i think i gotta do up all the cards for 300 odd pax all by myself :(
Dont ask why i'm so detailed haa that's why i call it our perfect wedding. all must be sui sui and let me guests have a memorable wedding :)

Cool, we have just settled our solemnisation wedding favour.
We went to delfi orchard last weekend to find the wedding gift shop but sad to see that it's already close down!! i wanted to get the "Just Married" Carplate.. but nvm i shall order via online..

So we came across this shop called Craft Inc and went in to take a look and also to shun bian ask for quotation.. Settled for this Perfumed beads bottle as my solemnisation wedding favour :)
It cost us $200 for just 30 of them! my goodness.. what to do i have only 30 odd guests lol.. economy of scale ma.. hai..

The lady tie the ribbon to let us have a feel how our bottle will look like :)
Since the poolside will be decorated with pink and white roses, we also get something to match the colours :)

Oh yeah and the sticker on the bottle :):)

We'll be collecting 14 working days later! YAY!

OT: Pics are taken using my new SGHU900 wahah so cool man i think my camera can sell away liao! hahahaha and get a better one perhaps a SLR!

The cards are finalised!! We printed our own "Wedding Invitation" on the plain bare cards that we first bought from techman.

Finalised layout for the inside... i hope it wont look weird. anyway we have printed all the cards and gonna give them out within the next 2 weeks

Managed to get this envelope seal from one of the bookstores at bugis junction :)

(This is only for delivered cards)

As for those i'm sending via postage, u all will get a different seal haha.. coz i'm afraid the that seal will come off during transit.

HDB launches new BTO in Seng Kang and Punggol!!!
it's really very nice as it as bay window really look like condo haha.
layout is v unique but wee dun like the MBR toilet directly facing the middle of the room.
which is bad feng shui. lol.

we are satisfied with our current unit selection and no regrets :):)
personally i feel that punggol spring is so far one of the best plots (both front and back unblock view) hehe forumers in punggol.org also agreed hahah.

and oh yea i'm happy that HDB implement a new regulation on first timers applicants.

Hurray!! We've selected our first choice hehee.. anyway i am very angry with the lady officer who attended to us.. due to our combined income is more than $4,000, we are not eligible for the grant for lower income couples.. however wee was asking some question regarding other grant available. and that woman just answered us "forget abt any grant already".

I mean what the hell?! is that what so called customer-centric government organisation? instead of helping us people in giving suggestions for getting more grant, yet u are telling us to to forget abt any grant. and she added on saying " if there's grant, the most only $5K"

Will see if i'm still fuming mad abt this issue after my projects and assignments end... if not i gonna give them a love letter.. well, on top of these, eventhough wee already have the exemption letter to buy a hdb despite him being a pte prop owner.. she still say gonna put up the request for us.. i dunno what these govt pple are doing seriously!!! and on top of these, they ask wee to fill up an survey form (which this is the 3rd time he fill up the EXACTLY THE SAME FORM)

SHOULDN'T HDB Keep a record of whatever forms that we filled up ?!! bloody wasting everyone's time. !!!

And regarding the exemption, we already have the approval letter and now u say gonna put up for approval again !??!?! when i asked her "so that's means it's 100% approve?" she say "oh i will put up for u ..."

I think if the request is rejected (which is very funny coz he already have the approval letter as prove) unless u all have stupid weird policies or some tiny words saying that hdb reserves the rights to make any changes to our decision, which is totally BULLSHIT!!!!

I'm so excited abt tomorrow's selection for Punggol Spring! :):)

It seems that all the units which are facing the LRT Line have been taken up.. and only left those 4th floor and below.. which we think is also pointless coz we will only see the LRT track.

Even if we get to see the waterway, what's the point? nothing beats staying beside the waterway! haha.. which we planned to move there after staying in punggol spring for 5 years.

Those houses besides the waterway will most likely either Executive codo or private condo :):)
We gonna work hard for that!

First choice is #15-309 hehehe... We wanted this unit because there's is no evening sun (at the living room) and the evening sun is only at the yard, where we hang our clothings.. The flats opposite us is not as close when compared to 313 and 333. So even if we get 309 (high floors) not much of the residents are able to look into our house.

Lee Hwa called yesterday to inform that our wedding bands are ready for collection!! :):)
So we went to collect it today hehehe.. and also to do engrave our names + dates on it. and they give us a free ring pillow.

It is so coincidence that i bumped into Cookies a.k.a Jasmine :):) she is working there and found out that she's married not long ago too! hehehe congrats girl :)

One of the reasons why we are okay with Punggol eventhough pple are complaining that it's so far, ulu blah blah blah.. etc

Beautiful isnt it? hehehehehe :) and with TPE, KPE and NEL, going to town wont take more than 30 mins and only about 20m mins by train :)

Cant wait for our selection date.. till now majority of our choice units are still available, although all the balcony units are already taken up during their first day of selection (as expected)

Just hope that the no. of units got selected per day remains as it is or even lesser (max 20 per day) then we will definately get to choose a unit! hehehe.. but gotta pray that it's min 8 or 9 level.. :(

It's weekend!! Wee and me decided to go to bras basah to search for printers and invitation cards for our solemnization.. walked around the place and we decided to put the off-the-shelves cards from techman, which is located at level 5. I wanted a precious moment card but they do not have what i want.. so end up we decided on this design.. rather simple yet elegant :)

We also bought tracing paper and silver binding threads for me to tie the inserts to the cards..

We went to funan's challenger to get a HP printer but actually it's not purposely bought for printing of these cards but just that wee wants it to have it for personal use coz sometimes i also need to print report for my sch stuff.. we trial and error a few layouts.. and till now we still have not settled for one hahaha...

Wee met the tailor to get his actual day (2nd march in) suit tailor-made..

My mom wants him to wear silvery-grey so that it can matches my light blue evening gown..

But according to the tailor, that kinda of colour is hard to find for the particular fabric that suitable for men's jacket.

So the designer (Yoko) and my mom agreed to go to arab st to search for fabric.. i didnt know wee is more troublesome than mine hahahaha =x at least i've decided all my gowns already.

So many different fabrics but non is what my mom was looking for... haa i got no much comments on it coz i dunno a thing abt men's suits..

I've finally confirmed all my gowns for photoshoot and let's see what i have:

Studio

1 Light blue evening gown (also my actual day evening gown) refer to pictures below.
1 Black halter cum collar fluffy evening gown (sry forgot to take pic)
1 Tie-back victorian style wedding gown (wee call it a mushroom gown) i like it coz it's special and they say it will look v nice in photos.

2 suits for wee (1 white and 1 black) style to be confirmed

1 Golden mermaid style evening gown

Yeah just within 15 mins haha finally this is the shortest period of time that i can confirm a gown immediately :)

Simply love at first sight of its low back. coz it's kinda hard to find a low back in the shop and most of the gown i've tried are all tube =.= kinda bored of it..

Mum says this is not an outdoor gown but she allows me to bring out for the photoshoot. :)

We have an appointment with the tailor to get wee's suit tailor-made :)
and after that i will continue my gown selection again hehehe.. need to get another evening gown for outdoor shoot, and perhaps my actual day gown and 2 more gowns for studio.. i forgotten what i've tried.. tsk ..

Sorry for not updating.. i've been busy visting various hotels and last weekend we went to Marriott and Hotel Intercon. Again, i forgot to take pictures lol. anyway we have made up our mind on our Actual day (AD) with Marriott Hotel.

It is the most expensive of all the hotels we have visited but due to the festive seasons, we think we rather spend more than to let our guests stranded without any parking lots at Marina mandarin hotel.

A table @ Marriott can easily cost us nearly $1.2k we will have a min of 30 +2 tables first and if the guests list are increasing, we will increase our tables as well :) Simple love the lightings at marriott and the high ceiling as well :) so nice lah! i bet u all will love it as well ! :)

This tueday, we visited Sheraton Towers to view their waterfall solemnisation venue. Kinda disappointed coz it as 2 pillars. and min is 40 pax for buffet and i dun intend to have alot of guests for my solemnisation. we just wanna keep it simplier. Moreover the price is sky high too.

We settled for Amara Hotel (the first hotel we visit) lol. yeah after going one big round. We find that the packages that they offered is the most economical and somemore + 1 night stay at their deluxe room too! hehhee...

I'm gonna start sourcing for printers for my invitation cards, program booklets and favours. Hopefully they do cater for a small group of guests :):)

last sunday we pop by mom's place again as she do not have any appointment hehehe.. she threw lots of gowns for me to try. Actually i just wanna try for my ROM gown.. but sad to say they do not have a large variety of it. However she saw this gown for wedding (not ROM) and personally i quite like it. Plain and simple and with tiny shiny glittery on the organza. like stars in the sky lol.

Girls, here's a list of things that i need u to help me with:

To think of creative ways at the reception for guests to identify their table no. (unlike the normal ways of identifying their names etc)
Gatecrashing. (It's really up to all ur cranky ideas, REMEMBER not to make my man puke lol...) I would like to have a "contract of wedding" and sealed with his kiss (with lipstick markings)
You all may like to flip the magazines and let me know what kinda dress u like (the design) but please keep it simple coz i have a budget hahaha.. (everyone the same design)
Carmen, welcome back to Singapore!! do you still have your polaroid? can lend me? hehehe.

I think that's all for now.. looking forward to this sunday to visit marriott and intercontinential hotel. Next tuesday to visit Sheraton Towers (we might hold our solomization there) @ their waterfall garden hehehe... i saw it at Style:Weddings magazine and immediately email them to ask :):) We shall see ..

Visit to Mandarin Oriental // Vera Wang design

The visit to Mandarin Oriental today was rather disappointing as what we see from their website are very nice pictures showcasing their ballroom, themes etc but however when we arrived at the ballroom, first the shape is a fan shape and i dun really like it.. as compared to Marina Mandarin's. Perhaps the deco is not fully up yet therefore we cant really picture how the full set up will be like.. we are still in the midist of vising the hotels. Visiting Swissotel this coming Tuesday and On Sunday we meeting marriott and intercontinental.. nth is confirmed yet.

As usual, we went to fetch my mom from work. Arrived earlier and she happens to be free as there's no customers at the shop. She passed me a few gown to try on including the one on the mannequin.. All look great.

In fact when i really choosing the gown one day i will definately spoilt with choices.

This is a very popular vera wang design designed by her previous designer, Ivan. it's simple and classic. haha but i only try for fun only lah hahahaha... :P

That's the priviledge if your mom is working in a bridal boutique heh...

Mom is gonna ask her boss how much is my overall package if i were to use chrisling on my actual day which includes photography, videography etc hehe..

Jorn Rainer by Lee Hwa Jewellery

After weeks of recce-ing all the jewellery shops in Singapore, we still go back to Lee Hwa, where he bought my Destinee :):) we settled for jorn rainer because it's less shiny as compared to the destinee wedding bands.. and also alot more affordable..

Wee's ring size is very small only a size 13 hence, need to custom made. haha...

we will collect the rings in 3 months time :):)

Total damage: $1180 (after 20% discount)

(Includes free polishing within 2 yrs and a ring pillow)

Amara and Marina Mandarin Hotels

Saturday is the only day we are free to meet the wedding planners of various hotels and to do a site visit on their ballrooms.

Firstly we went to Amara Hotel. I heard lots of good comments on their poolside solomisation, therefore i decided to go there and take a look.

Tiffany is the one who attended to us however somehow or rather we feel that she's new and inexperience of what she's doing.. she take us around to the poolside garden and the different function rooms.. i even prompted her can i take a look at the ballroom because there's an wedding tonight.. best still she didint give us her name card..

Marina Mandarin was totally the opposite. Kaylynn is our wedding planner.. the first thing she do is to hand us her name card.. however she need to attend to something urgently and she brought us to the longue and also offered us drinks while we look at the different photos of the wedding theme..

Kaylynn's service was superb and wee is very satisfied.. she also showed us the poolside solomization and we find that it is much much much nicer than amara too! :):) but cost wise, it's also much much much more expensive !!

In Summary, we have tentatively booked 31 Dec 2008.

Let me list down the pro and cons

Pro:

Since 31 Dec 2008, is a last day of the year, there's a countdown party at marina bay. that also says that i will have free fireworks on my wedding night!! :):) guests can stay for countdown party too (that's provided kaylynn agree to let us stay till 12am+)
31 Dec 2008 is our auspicious date according to Master Long.
It's after my exams and i will be on 1 month school holiday.
I will not touch on my annual leave as my annual leave for 2007 is miserably not enough.

Cons:

Guest who are driving, and arriving around 7pm will have a hard time finding a parking lot at marina square.. finger cross that there wont be any jam due to the countdown party.
Since it's year end, alot of people will apply leave and go overseas for holiday.. which means my attendance will be affected.

Afterall, we are satisfied with what kaylynn showed us and the hotel gave me a "wow" look hehehe... dun judge a book by its cover.. Initially when i see the exterior of the hotel, it didnt really excite me to hold my banquet there. :P

I'm meeting Sandy of Oriental Mandarin tomorrow hopefully she will give us the same service as Kaylynn.

From the packages Oriental Mandarin seems to have the most perks heheh.. we shall see :)
